Lantern Keys Privacy Policy
Effective October 20, 2026
Short version
No accounts, no ads and no tracking across apps. What you make stays on your device. We collect anonymous usage analytics to make the app better, and you can turn it off.
Who we are
Lantern Keys is made by HUMAN RESOURCES ON DEMAND INC., a New York corporation ("we").
What stays on your device
Your settings (volume, sound, note names and keyboard range) and your lesson progress stay in this browser's local storage on your device. We never upload them. Piano sounds are made on your device, and Lantern Keys doesn't use your microphone. "Turn sideways for more keys" may ask for motion access to detect tilt; that stays on the device.
Anonymous analytics
We use PostHog (US) to count how the app is used, for example which screens open and which buttons are tapped. Each event includes the app name and version, basic device info (OS, OS version, screen size, device type) and a random ID created on your device. That ID isn't tied to your name, email or any account. We never identify you, we don't build user profiles, and we don't combine this data with other companies' data. Session replay and heatmaps are off, and text you type is not captured. IP addresses are discarded and we don't look up your location. We don't collect crash reports. Data is kept for PostHog's default retention period.
Turn it off any time: About → "Share anonymous usage data". Nothing is sent while you're offline.
Hosting
Lantern Keys is hosted on grok.me, which receives your IP address and basic request details when the page loads, like any website. While the app is open, the Grok App Builder may also load a small script from grok.com, so grok.com receives your IP address and basic request details. We don't use them to track you.
What we don't do
No accounts, no advertising, no selling or sharing personal information, no tracking across other apps or websites.
Children
Lantern Keys is a general-audience app. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Your choices
Deleting the app or clearing this site’s data deletes everything it stores. For questions or requests about analytics data, email [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete data. Contact us to use them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above.
